Sport

Our aim is to provide an exciting, inclusive and positive environment within and through sport for our pupils to understand and appreciate the real, lifelong impact sport and teamwork can have on their physical, mental, social, and emotional wellbeing.
The wide range of sports on offer at LWC, with the support of our coaching, academic and pastoral staff, allows pupils to thrive and achieve in whichever sports they decide to take on now and in the future. This solid foundation provided gives them the confidence to understand, appreciate and take part in sport for life.
Teamplayers
The LWC programme has a strong emphasis on team sports.
It is our belief that the world our pupils wish to thrive in does and will continue to throw up challenges. As such we believe team sport enables us to teach the skills they will need to rise to these challenges through teamwork, commitment, peer group interaction, problem solving, taking responsibility, enhanced communication skills, resilience, character development, honesty and integrity. These are all essential traits to support success in the world at large.

Our major sports are as follows:
Autumn term
• Girls’ hockey • Boys’ rugby • Boys’ football
Spring term
• Girls’ netball • Girls’ football • Boys’ rugby 7s • Boys’ hockey
