Celebrating six months of The Barn 🎈
It`s been a whole half-year since LWC`s sector-leading strength and conditioning space opened and what an impact it`s had.
The Barn has provided students with regular opportunities to boost their S&C and cardio work and has also become a home for fitness development courses, such as those run by @athlete_performance_lab_ during holidays.
The £2.5 million investment in sport continues at LWC, to instil a lifelong passion for movement, whatever form it takes.

🦡 Badger Cam is back 🦡
There are 22 monitored badger sets across LWC`s 1200 acres.
Having been shown one of them by LWC Farmer, Paul Sigley, students set up a camera trap nearby to observe just what goes on…
Check out the badgers gathering bedding and dragging it to their sets to prepare for their kits….and a photobombing deer thrown in for good measure.
Observing wildlife in its natural habitat is a huge benefit for our A-level Environmental Scientists and reassuring to the rest of us that the LWC ecosystem is ticking along nicely. 🐾

A story of a girls` football team facing two national cup semi-finals in the space of just 24 hours, against tough opposition.
Defeat to a strong Surbiton High side in the ISFA Cup on Wednesday felt brutal for LWC`s U15As. Pulling on the shirt again just one day later would need the girls to dig deep, both physically and mentally.
Yesterday, they convincingly won their way through the finals of the ISFA Shield. Because they couldn`t have dug deeper.
It`s never just about the happy ending (although that helps), but what you do to get there.

Singing boosts mood, improves our immune function and makes us feel more socially connected.
It was also showcased beautifully by LWC`s An Evening of Song – featuring nearly 40 vocalists from across our year groups.

🗻 It`s often said that challenges feel smaller when viewed from the top of a mountain….
Italy`s Monte Rosa is the second-highest mountain massif in Western Europe and the destination for LWC`s half-term senior ski trip.
It provided a great backdrop to grow confidence and master new skills, allowing students to leave with so much more than when they arrived.
