☀🏂 The last two trips to arrive back at LWC this Easter were at extremes….
In fact, on average there was a 20-degree difference between the weather in the Jasper National Park in Canada and Club La Santa on Lanzarote.
More than 30 students enjoyed a week of skiing in the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies.
Whilst in the Canaries, our tennis players and athletes prepared for the summer season with technical work, conditioning and fun at a sports and active holiday resort.
Now for the rest……oh.

🛶 118 miles, 3 nights camping and more blisters than you can imagine 🛶
The results are in and LWC finished 2nd out of all schools competing in the Junior Devizes to Westminster Race this year. Also…..
🥇 LWC won the Junior Mixed Doubles K2
🥇 LWC came 1st out of all schools entering with CCF boats
🥈 LWC finished 2nd in the Veteran-Junior category
🏅 LWC were 4th overall in the Junior Doubles
With four LWC crews in the top 10 junior crews, all LWC boats finishing and new College records set….I think we can safely say that this year`s DW crews (and their extraordinary support teams) have smashed it.
LWC Headmaster, Adam Williams concluded, "You are the epitome of courage, perseverance and quiet strength….You’ve set the bar. I am in awe of you all, as I am your teachers and support crews who are so passionate in supporting you achieve your dream."
Oh and they raised more than £2,600 for Surfers Against Sewage into the bargain.
Congratulations to our mighty paddlers. What a memory to have made.

🏏 Happy Easter!
At Easter, 1998, a group of girls from LWC planted six young copper beech trees on the edge of the new cricket field at Junior House.
The planting was to mark the arrival of the first girls to enter 1st Form.
The College magazine, The Sower added, "In the years to come, we hope the trees will provide shade for century makers and spectators."
The trees still remain and today, the girls at LWC are the century makers.
Nine of our female students have been called up to county sides and we remain in the top 100 senior schools for cricket, according to The Cricketer`s Schools Guide 2025.
Bring on the new cricket season, under the watchful gaze of those copper beech trees.

Good luck to our extraordinary marathon canoe teams as they begin the longest non-stop canoe race in the world today.
The Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race is 125 miles in length and spans four days.
No wonder it`s regarded as the canoeist`s Everest.
For all those bitterly cold training mornings on the water, blistered hands, nights under frozen canvas and encouraging cries from the towpaths….well done LWC.
