Sixth Form Results
& Destinations
This year, LWC has achieved more record-breaking A-level and BTEC results. 81.4 per cent were graded A*-B, with 97 per cent A*-C. Last year’s Sixth Form cohort smashed previous LWC records and this year’s has continued the success story. We couldn’t be prouder.
A clean sweep of A* grades now belongs to Grace, Dylan, Jensen, Daniel and Aidan. A remarkable achievement. On Speech Day, Foundationer, Jensen spoke of the transformative power of the Lord Wandsworth Foundation. Weeks later, this has been borne out in his exceptional results.
The progress of this year’s A-level students also places LWC in the top ten per cent of schools and colleges nationally, based upon the A-level Performance System (ALPS). This means that on average, Sixth Form students at LWC achieve more highly than similar students elsewhere.
But here’s the thing…these remarkable young people now step into the world with not only results, but something even more powerful: an outlook. They’ve packed their intellectual passports with the kind of experiences, challenges and stretch that we hope will last them a lifetime.
Our philosophy here at LWC is, as our farm manager, Paul Sigley would say, ‘in yield’.
By taking brilliant teachers, adding curious pupils, putting them in inspiring spaces and enveloping them in a culture where questions are encouraged and mistakes are part of the adventure – wonderful things happen.
Our mission at LWC, as it has been from the very beginning, is to widen worlds. To be expansive in spirit. To offer a blend of inspiration, resilience and curiosity in a landscape increasingly obsessed with metrics and conformity. We’re not convinced by the idea of a single set path. Life, like learning, is rarely that tidy.
So here’s to the journeys – the winding ones, the scenic routes, the unexpected detours. Let’s celebrate the bravery it takes to veer off the obvious track and support young people in finding the joy of asking ‘what if?’ rather than ‘what next?’.
LWC is thriving. These exceptional A-level results, our shortlisting for Co-ed Independent School of the Year in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards and a recent glowing review in the Good Schools Guide are all a testament to this. As is our upcoming merger with St Neot’s Preparatory School – offering a strong educational pathway stretching from the age of 2, all the way to the 18-year-olds collecting their results on days like today.
But above all, LWC is thriving because of the people, the culture and the joy. And the sense that learning, real learning, doesn’t stop here.
