Joining our
Sixth Form

U6 group walking LWC 2

A growing focus on life after school means that our Sixth Form pupils develop greater confidence and ambition as they prepare for university and beyond.

Our students consistently achieve excellent exam results, while still enjoying our extensive co-curricular programme and many leadership opportunities, making these two years at LWC very special indeed.

The LWC Sixth Form provides excellent preparation for the demands of university and adult life. Students are given the freedom to develop their independence, to explore new interests, and to rise to leadership opportunities, alongside their academic commitments.

Our current requirement for entry into the Sixth Form is a minimum of six Grade 5s at GCSE (or the equivalent), preferably with Grade 7s in the subjects to be studied at A Level. Places are offered on the basis of an interview with the academic team and Head of Sixth Form, academic assessment, predicted GCSE results and a report from the pupil’s current school.

The assessment process for the first round of offers takes place towards the end of the Autumn term, with offers made in January. Occasionally, a small number of places are available after this point. Please contact the admissions office to find out more.

  • Keeping in Touch and Orientation Days

Once you have accepted a place, we’ll keep in touch with news and invitations to events so that by the time our new Sixth Formers join us they feel part of the LWC family.

Our orientation day in the summer term gives all our new pupils the chance to spend time with their new classmates, meet Heads of Department and other key members of staff.

There will, of course, also be lots of information heading your way about uniform, Houses, co-curricular activities, sports camps, music lessons, and lots more. All our Keeping in Touch communications are designed to offer advice and support to families as they prepare to join LWC, and we encourage you to call us with any questions you may have.
