Widening Worlds – Transforming Lives

By the age of 16, around 1 in 20 children will have experienced the death of one or both of their parents*.

Imagine the impact on them and their wider family.

The Lord Wandsworth Foundation plays a vital role in supporting vulnerable children who have lost the support of a parent by providing them with an LWC Education. A Foundation place provides far more than schooling – it offers children facing significant loss the chance to thrive through stability, opportunity and community.

Our Foundation Awards and Extras are only possible through the generosity of our donors.

Kate’s Story:

“The Foundation was genuinely life-changing”

Kate came to Lord Wandsworth College after a difficult childhood marked by domestic violence. As a Foundationer, she flourished, discovering a love of books and writing, and forming friendships that would last a lifetime (including meeting her future husband, Kit, also a Foundationer). The Foundation gave Kate the stability, confidence, and opportunities that shaped the life and career she enjoys today.

Today, Kate enjoys a successful career in global marketing, a loving family, and a secure life – all opportunities made possible by her Foundation place at Lord Wandsworth College.
