Will Dixon Announced as New Chief Operating Officer
Adam Williams | 18 October 2024
It gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of Will Dixon as the new Chief Operating Officer at LWC from April 2025.
Will is going to build on the quite exceptional work over the last four years of Baz Bennett, our current COO, who will work alongside Will to ensure a smooth handover before he makes the move to back to Cumbria with his family.
Will joins us from Shiplake College, where, as the current Bursar, he has been instrumental in establishing and delivering an ambitious estates development plan to support their recent co-educational growth. His success in that role was grounded in his previous experience in both the banking sector and the military.
In his 11 years at Barclays, Will fulfilled a breadth of roles; starting as a Project Manager and then moving into senior leadership roles including Area Director, Chief of Staff and latterly Director of Operations and Colleague Enablement in Barclays Business Bank.
Prior to joining Barclays, Will served as an officer in the Rifles Regiment. Deploying as a Platoon commander, he saw active service in Afghanistan before being medically discharged due to losing his lower left leg on operations. He also served as Deputy National Chairman of Blesma, The Limbless Veterans Charity, and in 2013 rowed the Atlantic, raising over £1m for charity.
Will’s remarkable personal journey, including his service in the Rifles Regiment and his dedication to charitable causes, speaks volumes about his determination and commitment to serving others. Furthermore, his proven leadership in managing growth and development projects aligns perfectly with LWC’s own ambitious plans for the future.
Will, his wife Mia and his two children are looking forward to becoming part of the LWC and St Neot’s community. His black labrador, Isla, is very excited too.
