Nine female students from Lord Wandsworth College have received call-ups to county cricket sides.

The girls, aged between 11 and 18 have been selected for a combination of the Hampshire and Berkshire County Pathways.

LWC has also been named for the ninth year running, in the top 100 senior schools for cricket by The Cricketer’s Schools Guide 2025. The guide selects schools based upon criteria which include a compelling commitment to cricket in the curriculum, facilities, fixture programmes and coaching.

Editor of The Cricketer, Huw Turbervill said, “The 10^th anniversary of the guide recognises the fantastic cricket programmes that exist in school curricula up and down the country. One of the most phenomenal things about the last decade, is seeing cricket usurp rounders as the sport for girls. Rejoice!’

Lord Wandsworth College continues to remain committed to the development of cricket facilities at the school. It has recently created a girls’ cricket training area, refurbished 20 outdoor cricket nets and looks forward to the unveiling of its new Head of Cricket in the new year.
