Welcome to LWC News

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to LWC News! We are delighted to introduce our exciting news platform, a dedicated space to share all our stories. This platform will replace the Week Ahead format you are familiar with, still providing links to all the important dates, along with additional news stories. The first three links you will see will direct you to our school calendar, LWC Sports (via SOCS), and the sports weekly schedule, which you are accustomed to viewing.

We look forward to developing this platform in the coming weeks. Please share any thoughts or feedback by contacting communications@lordwandsworth.org.

WW1 Aviation Trust Activity Day hosted by the History Department

Thursday 20 June.

The History department are hosting a group called the WW1 Aviation Heritage Trust. The Trust was set up in 2013 to keep the aviation legacy of the Great War alive. The group will be working with LWC’s 2nd Form, the highlight of the day being a flypast by one of the group’s biplanes. The aircraft will be scattering war poetry written by children to later be picked up by students. The biodegradable paper has flower seeds within it, to be planted later in the gardens of our 2nd Form. Other activities on the day include a 1915 flight simulator for our pupils to try.

Next Level Camps at LWC

Running at LWC for six weeks (July 15–August 23), Next Level Camps offer children (aged 4–14) a place to continue their academic and social growth. Designed by education specialists to enhance holistic child development, children are immersed in activities which boost their cognitive function and social engagement, whilst always having fun!

A day at camp is structured with a healthy mixture of STEAM workshops (focusing on the skills and knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics), Sports, Activities, Arts and Crafts and Healthy Habits and Life Skills. Next Level Camps have eradicated repetitive holiday camp days and replaced them with an engaging, inspiring and progressive curriculum.
