Welcome to LWC News

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to LWC News! We are delighted to introduce our exciting news platform, a dedicated space to share all our stories. This platform will replace the Week Ahead format you are familiar with, still providing links to all the important dates, along with additional news stories. The first three links you will see will direct you to our school calendar, LWC Sports (via SOCS), and the sports weekly schedule, which you are accustomed to viewing.

Thank you to everyone that has already shared their feedback and we look forward to hearing more. Please share any thoughts or feedback by contacting communications@lordwandsworth.org.

As arrangements can sometimes change due to factors outside of our control, we recommend checking the calendar routinely.

1st Form trip to Fishbourne Roman Palace and Butser Ancient Farm.

Last week the Classics Department took all the 1st Form to Fishbourne Roman Palace and Butser Ancient Farm. We explored the Roman palace, admired the oldest mosaics in Britain and had a look at some real Roman artefacts as well as dressing up as Romans!

In the afternoon, we visited an ancient British farm house, we made our own pots out of clay, and went inside a reconstructed Roman villa complete with dining room and central heating!

It was an excellent opportunity to see close up what life was like in Roman Britain at both ends of the social spectrum.

Next Level Camps at LWC

Running at LWC for six weeks (July 15–August 23), Next Level Camps offer children (aged 4–14) a place to continue their academic and social growth. Designed by education specialists to enhance holistic child development, children are immersed in activities which boost their cognitive function and social engagement, whilst always having fun!

A day at camp is structured with a healthy mixture of STEAM workshops (focusing on the skills and knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics), Sports, Activities, Arts and Crafts and Healthy Habits and Life Skills. Next Level Camps have eradicated repetitive holiday camp days and replaced them with an engaging, inspiring and progressive curriculum.
