LWC Ranked in Top 1% of Schools & Colleges

Sarah Walker | 23 October 2025

Lord Wandsworth College has been placed in the top 1% of schools and colleges nationally, when it comes to the progress made by students in Sixth Form.

The College has been given Alps 1 status.

Alps (A-level Performance System) is a national benchmarking tool that measures how much progress students make, compared to others who are educated elsewhere in the country.

The results allow education providers to track and measure progress against national data.

“We’re delighted to hear that we have achieved Alps 1 at A-level,” added LWC Deputy Head (Academic), Angela Watson. “This is the highest possible rating for schools and a clear sign that something rather special is happening at LWC. Our pupils aren’t just doing well; they’re soaring beyond expectations. This success reflects the skill and dedication of our staff, the determination of our pupils and a school culture that refuses to settle for just what is expected. It’s a brilliant moment for the whole community and one we’re very proud to celebrate.”

The news follows record A-level and BTEC results at LWC in the summer, which saw 81 per cent of marks graded A*-B and 97 per cent A*-C.
