Cricket Coach of the Year Nomination

Estelle Benson | 19 October 2023

We are delighted to announce that Headmaster, Adam Williams, has been nominated in the category of ‘Coach of the Year in Hampshire’, as part of the ECB Coaching Awards.

Mr Williams has been coaching at Odiham and Greywell Cricket Club for 8 years now and said;

“cricket is just the most wonderful game, and it has been a joy to have coached children between the ages of 6 and 18 for nearly 30 years. In particular, the progression of girls’ cricket has been meteoric and I have loved playing a very small part in this, being hugely supported by Lord Wandsworth College, Odiham and Greywell CC and the parents.  The girls are just awesome, and their progression and enjoyment are great to see.”

The ‘Coach of the Year in Hampshire’ criteria was based on the following:

A coach who goes the extra mile and is a true coaching hero to their club, league, county, or school. They are creative and work with players to help them reach their full potential whilst delivering active and fun sessions. They are someone who:

  1. Inspires and supports individual player development

  2. Creates and delivers enjoyable and effective coaching sessions

  3. Uses innovation and inspirational coaching methods which have significantly improved player and team performances

We wish Mr Williams all the best for the award announcements next month.
