These results are a clarion call that even in the most challenging period of education in decades, the outstanding relationship and teamwork between pupils and teachers, as well as a commitment to innovation and hard work, has seen the pupils flourish. We are so proud of them.

There were many excellent stories, with over 34% of results being grades A*-A, nearly 70% A*-B and a pass rate of 99%. The year group further achieved an almost clean sweep of A*-B grades in their Extended Project Qualification as they took and applied their subject knowledge to university degree level.

The past few years have seen Teaching and Learning transformed at LWC, and this year it was the turn of departments such as Art, French and Maths to shine a light on the ways in which the school is reimagining education. This year also saw LWC nominated as finalists for the Independent School of the Year awards for our ‘Careers programme’ as well as the’ Innovation Award for an Outstanding New Initiative’ – in this case our teaching and learning approach. This, after being national winners for Pupil Wellbeing during the lockdown years. Positive wellbeing and mental health are at the heart of our community.

These achievements are also within the context of record investment in pupils and facilities (with a new Science Centre and refurbished theatre space in use) and a new Sixth Form centre – ready April 2023 – not to mention continuing record demand for places and pupil numbers.

Our pupils have developed their skills at LWC to enable them to navigate their way through the high winds and stormy waters of present-day education and culture, ready to step out into the world to make a positive difference to others.
