๐ 2026 is the National Year of Reading ๐
Which seems as good an excuse as any to celebrate our brilliant libraries - whether on high streets, in schools or those cool little vans that drive around some of our most rural communities.
Earlier this year, bestselling author and winner of the Waterstones Children`s Book prize, @natelessore joined us in our new-look library, with views over the LWC treetops.
"Libraries like this change lives," he explained. "They`re crucial to the future of young people in this country, who come here for fun and to study. There`s no better place to be surrounded by creativity than a library."

Taking a step back in time ๐ฐ
Work on our classrooms this summer has uncovered words from those who trod our 1200 acres long before us.
Behind SMART Boards in our Stables Block, near School House, this graffiti was discovered, dating back to the Second World War.
At the time, LWC remained open to provide an agricultural and general education to students who had lost one or both parents.
It`s said that during the war, you could see the glow of the burning Southampton Docks from Junior (now Bramley House), over 40 miles away.
True history, contained in these walls.

LWC Sixth Former, Phoebe, is now six weeks into her bid to become the youngest woman to run the length of Britain.
Since her last update, Phoebe`s crossed the Scottish border into England, has been surprised by ultra running legend, @smgayter, who gifted a signed copy of her book (thanks Sharon!) and has seen a lot of cows. ๐ฎ
She continues to raise money for the transformative Lord Wandsworth Foundation and the National Autistic Society on her incredible journey. You can donate via our link in bio.
