Match Days
Welcome to Lord Wandsworth College, where we’re delighted to host you for a day of incredible sport.
While you’re here, we invite you to look beyond the scoreline and see the true heart of our sporting philosophy.
We champion the idea that fitness is not a phase, but a lifelong pursuit; a vibrant, wild adventure that makes life richer. From the thunderous roar of a rugby match to the quick-fire precision of a hockey game, every moment on our pitches is a chance to be courageous, to lift others with encouragement, and to build the kind of resilience that lasts a lifetime. So, welcome! We hope every player leaves today feeling proud and inspired by the game.

Lewis Starbuck (Head of Rugby)
Rugby here is more than a sport – it develops resilience, leadership, and teamwork, both on and off the field. We are proud to count legends such as Jonny Wilkinson, Ugo Monye, Peter Richards, and Charlie Amesbury among our alumni – individuals who have gone on to the highest levels of the game, while embodying the values we hold dear. Today, our programme continues to thrive. Currently we are county champions at U14’s, U15’s, U16’s, and U18’s, Rosslyn Park U18 7’s Bowl winners, and proud National Cup finalists at U15. These achievements reflect the depth of talent and commitment throughout the school, from players to coaches. But above all, rugby at LWC is grounded in the values of fair play, respect, and humility. I hope you enjoy your day here, and share some wonderful moments with us.
