Scholars play at Odiham Church
The Music Scholars from Lord Wandsworth College gave their final concert of the year at All Saints Church, Odiham, where a host of instrumentalists and singers performed their programme in ambient acoustics and delightful surroundings. The audience enjoyed a huge variety of styles, including not only music from the Western Classical Tradition, with Handel, Bach and Mozart, but boogie-woogie saxophone and present day contemporary rock as well, including guitar music by The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. The programme also introduced music composed by one of our own; singer/songwriter Kiera Browne performed the song, ‘Move On’, from her new album. The solos were interspersed with a set of songs taken from the ‘Songs Of Yale’ collection and performed by the Barbershop Group, arranged and led by Mr. Rolles, and conducted by Chris Stanton. All in all, a lovely evening in a beautiful setting; thanks to all involved.
