4th & 5th Form
Students choose their GCSE subject options at the end of the 3rd Form and most take 10 subjects. As a compulsory core all pupils take two English GCSEs (Language and Literature), Mathematics, Science (three separate sciences (3 GCSEs) or dual award science (2 GCSEs), one foreign language (French, German or Spanish), one humanity subject (Classics, Geography or History). In addition Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Education (SMSC) is taken as a non-examined subject in the core. Pupils then choose two or three further options from another foreign language, another humanity, Latin, Art or 3 Dimensional Studies, Music, Design and Technology (Graphics products or resistant materials), Drama, Computer Science and Religious Studies.
Pupils are placed in sets (by ability) in English, Mathematics and the Sciences.
